ARLA offers a customer-dedicated engineering service to solve typical problems in the domain of power transmission engineering.
ARLA engineering services are based on a fixed price rate and comprise the following subjects for example:
Due to a wide range of engineering know-how, ARLA has become a well-known specialist to solve customer problems successfully in many branches of industry.
ARLA's engineering refers basically to the simulation and analysis of torsional vibration systems. You can consider straight, branched, or even intermeshed drive systems considering typically nonlinear characteristics (e.g.: flexible couplings, gear stages). Depending on the technical requirements, the simulation can be realized either in the time domain (important for transient effects like start-up, run-up within a predefined time range, acceleration and deceleration of powertrains, etc.) or in the frequency domain (important to check the basic resonance behaviour of a drive system considering a steady-state operation of the drive system). It is possible to expand the simulation model in order to take into account control elements or even the behaviour of "non-mechanical" systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical influence).
Another ARLA engineering subject is the rotordynamic simulation of rotating machinery (reciprocating engines, compressors, fans, blowers, rotors, drive systems in turbomachinery). The main emphasis is put on the analysis of lateral vibrations (critical speeds, stability maps, dynamic forces and moments due to the unbalance response, time-transient response for specific speeds, analysis of journal and roller bearings).
The Importance of Simulation and Engineering Services
The computer simulation of the dynamic behaviour of drive systems in rotating machinery and above all in the automotive industry is of increasing importance. "Virtual Engineering" becomes a crucial step in R & D departments in order to determine the dynamic effects a priori. Thus, the professional use of computer simulation shortens the testing and prototype phase tremendously. As a matter of fact, the R & D and product costs are effectively reduced while also minimizing the time range from the first development step to the last step of putting into operation. Simulation technologies yield a practice-oriented "offline" pre-analysis of the expected vibrations. You are able to avoid failures and acoustic problems already during the R & D steps (before testing the product). Invest in ARLA's engineering services to save time & money and to improve the quality of your products.
